In re: Amendments to Florida Rules of Civil Procedure 1.080, 1.090, and 1.490
On the Civil Procedure Rules Committee's report, the Florida Supreme Court amended Rule 1.080 to clarify that documents must be filed "with the court" and to add new subdivisions (c) and (d) cross-referencing Florida Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.520 (document format) and 2.515 (signature and representations to the court), with existing subdivisions re-lettered. The Court made only stylistic changes to Rule 1.090 and expressly declined to delete "good" from the "good cause" standard in subdivision (b)(1) or to permit extensions of time by party agreement absent good cause. Proposed amendments to Rule 1.490 (Magistrates) were withdrawn by the Committee after an opposing comment and were not adopted.
