In re: Amendments to Florida Rules of Appellate Procedure 9.148 and 9.210
The Florida Supreme Court adopted new Rule of Appellate Procedure 9.148, creating an expedited, confidentiality-protective appellate procedure for orders entered under the Florida Mental Health (Baker) Act, and amended Rule 9.210 governing briefs. The Rule 9.210 amendments correct references to 'word count or page limits' and delete the internal sub-limit requiring that only a specified number of words/pages of a reply/cross-answer brief be devoted to reply argument. The amendments take effect January 1, 2024, at 12:01 a.m.
