Eckert Realty Corp. v. Strazzeri
A worker who fell on a sloped ramp at her office complex won a premises liability verdict, but the Fourth District reversed the denial of the owner's motion for directed verdict. Because the plaintiff had traversed the ramp hundreds of times, the ramp was installed by a certified contractor and had passed repeated inspections, and no one had ever fallen on it before, there was no evidence of the owner's actual or constructive knowledge of a dangerous condition or of negligent maintenance.
