Dean K. Matt v. State of Florida, et al.

The Florida Supreme Court affirmed the final judgment validating the UPRD's 2024 bond issue. Applying the limited scope of bond-validation review, the Court held the district had statutory authority to issue the bonds via referendum, that generalized legislative findings of a 'logical relationship' between recreational improvements and property values satisfied the special-benefit prong for special assessments, and that Matt's due process and judicial-disqualification arguments failed.
